Hey everyone, I know what you might be thinking: a post on a Friday?

Yupppp.

Just had to write out something I’ve been thinking a lot about lately. What it means to be a multidimensional woman. You know, how we’re constantly trying to show our depth and intelligence, but also embrace our sexuality without being boxed into stereotypes. It’s like, if you’re comfortable in your skin and you express yourself, there’s always this nagging fear that people might see you as superficial. If you’re showing your beauty, somehow that means you can’t be intelligent or deep. And then there’s this whole thing about loving deeply without being labeled as desperate. It’s exhausting!

The thing is, I know so many women who are multidimensional; who are walking contradictions. Women who are sensual but spiritual, soft but assertive, deeply intellectual yet will shake what we were blessed with. And somehow, despite embodying all these layers, society still tries to reduce them to just one thing. Either you’re sexy or you’re wise. Either you’re confident or you’re humble. Either you’re fun or you’re serious. And I’m just like… why can’t we be all of it? Why is it so hard for the world to accept that we contain multitudes?

And honestly, I struggle with this myself. I love reading about personal development, and dare to say I have plenty of knowledge in that area. And at the same time, I love sending texts to my s/o that will have my parents wash their eyes with holy water. Still, whenever I send these texts or dress in a way that according to society doesn’t show my depth or intelligence, I immediately start to doubt myself and wonder if I myself am perceived as dumb or superficial. Like, does expressing this side of me take away from everything else I am? Does it make people take me less seriously?

I guess what I’m trying to say is, why is it so complicated for us to just be ourselves? To love ourselves, to be confident in our beauty, and to express our desires without feeling like we’re being judged or misunderstood? It’s a struggle that many of us face, and I just wanted to share these thoughts and I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences.
